Whistler transforms into a true winter wonderland when the snow falls. Living here, I get to experience the best of this snowy wonderland every day, and it never gets old. From the thrill of exploring the mountains to cozying up after a day outdoors, here are my top 5 favorite winter activities to make the most of this incredible season, plus a special way to treat yourself while you’re here!

Ski or Snowboard WhistlerBlackcomb
Let’s be honest—skiing and snowboarding are the main reasons people flock to Whistler in Winter, and for good reasons! The mountains are massive, with endless terrain to explore. On Blackcomb Mountain, my favorite spot is Seventh Heaven. On a clear, sunny day, the views up there are absolutely breathtaking. It's like being on top of the world. On Whistler Mountain, I love the challenge of going down Peak to Creek. It's a long, satisfying ride!
Snowmobiling
Snowmobiling is an amazing way to explore Whistler’s Backcountry trails. While there are several great companies to choose from, my personal experience was with Blackcomb Snowmobile, and it was fantastic! I went on a 3-hour tour in the stunning Brandywine and Callaghan Valley. The views were incredible. We made a stop at a cozy cabin to enjoy a warm cup of non-alcoholic hot apple cider which I really enjoyed. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, they offer tours for all skill levels. It was my first time on a snowmobile and it's easy to pick up, I had an amazing time!

Snowshoeing or Cross Country Skiing in Lost Lake
Lost Lake is the perfect spot to experience Whistler’s winter magic. You can take a peaceful snowshoeing trek through the quiet, snow-covered forest or try cross-country skiing on the groomed trails. Let me share a funny story from my first time cross-country skiing: I was happily gliding along the left side of the tracks when I spotted a guy speeding toward me. That’s when it hit me—I was on the wrong side! We ended up colliding. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it was definitely awkward and pretty hilarious. Let’s just say I’ve learned my lesson—I always stick to the right now!

This enchanting multimedia night walk takes you through the forest, where dazzling lights, music, and storytelling create a world straight out of a fairytale.
